September 2026 Astrology: Rooted Healing at the Threshold

September 2026 Astrology

Rebuilding the Warrior: The Grounded Shifts of September 2026 Astrology

If the recent Eclipse Season felt like your nervous system got stuck on a high-frequency vibrate mode for three weeks, take a deep breath. You’ve crossed the threshold. September 2026 astrology invites us to step away from that dizzying pace and into a collective exhale.

As we slide out of the high-velocity chaos of cosmic re-routing, we land softly in the quiet, grounded domain of Virgo. This New Moon isn’t about pushing for more; it’s about subtraction. We need to look at the overwhelming influx of information, emotional clutter, and scattered energy that the Eclipses left us and ask: What actually matters?

Virgo season invites us to get our house in order — both literally and energetically. This is your moment of stillness and calm to sort through the noise. Take this time to refine your daily systems. Think of it as sacred editing. You don’t need to overhaul your entire life overnight. You just need to clear off the desk and tidy up the workflow. Now is the time to reclaim your peace so you can actually hear your own inner voice again.

The New Moon in Virgo: A Clear Shift (September 10)

The stabilizing New Moon in Virgo brings with it some fresh, 0 degree energy. Venus and Mercury are both entering new territory on the same day. A flowing Air trine stimulates the mind as Uranus stations Retrograde in Gemini, Pluto magnifies everything in Aquarius, and the messenger Mercury flies into Libra.

As Hermes lands in the territory of Venus, he’s calling our attention back to the goddess of love, beauty, and fairness. And as Venus enters Scorpio at the same time in preparation for her upcoming Retrograde, she comes face to face with Chiron at 0 degrees Taurus. Everyone is looking back on Venus, and she’s about to do something big.

With Venus stepping out of the warm, sociable fire of Leo and into the Fixed Water of Scorpio, our relational focus sharpens into something much deeper, more piercing, and relentlessly fearless. This isn’t small talk anymore. Venus in Scorpio demands truth, loyalty, and emotional depth.

The New Moon is the beginning, the fallow ground that sets the stage for our Venus Retrograde in Scorpio journey. It’s also the start of a Venusian healing experience of the Taurus-Scorpio axis that begins now and takes us through the year 2033.

Venus in Scorpio & Chiron: Healing Self-Worth & Emotional Vulnerability

We can’t talk about the weight of this New Moon without talking about its central anchor: Venus opposite Chiron. This isn’t a quick, one-off brushing of shoulders. It starts with a protracted 3-hit sequence unfolding across the next four months, and catapults us into a new storyline that ends in seven years. Those three hits are evenly distributed across Autumn (on September 10, October 28, and November 28).

The opposition on September 10th hits at 0 degrees. This locks an intense Venus in Scorpio in gridlock against a steady, unyielding Chiron in Taurus. For years, while Chiron crawled through Aries since 2018, our collective healing work centered on the raw assertion of self. We were carving out independence, defending our boundaries, and learning how to say “I am” without asking for permission first. Many of us made massive, structural life changes during those years — stepping away from old containers, claiming our sovereignty, and building autonomous paths from scratch.

But now that Chiron has stepped foot into Taurus, the terrain shifts to our sense of safety, self-worth, and how we determine value. When Venus in Scorpio — craving absolute depth, transformation, and emotional truth — faces off against Chiron in Taurus, our sore spots around security (emotionally and materially) are laid bare.

The need for reciprocity in relationships will be a key focus for these seven years. It gives us space to practice leaning into trust, even when (and maybe especially when) that completely terrifies us. Emotional vulnerability means laying your heart on the table, allowing yourself to be open to heartbreak in the pursuit of passion and desire. Learning to trust that you’re safe again in the arms of a lover can be a process. Venus in Scorpio gives us the burning incentive to try, while Chiron in Taurus challenges us to redefine security and what it means to us.

Looking Back: Aries/Libra Opposition Dates

Just as this Scorpio-Taurus ride kicks off a seven year process, we’re also completing another (8 year) chapter. The previous storyline is of Venus in Libra opposing Chiron in Aries. Our final hit of Libra-Aries occurs at the end of October. Here we’re exploring themes of dependence and free will in relationships. We may be growing into our autonomy or neglecting it in favor of keeping the peace:

Mercury in Libra Generates A Flowing Air Trine of Social Stimuli

At the same time that Venus is seriously shifting gears, Mercury slips into Libra, ruled by Venus herself. This creates a fascinating mental tie back to the deep work of Venus in Scorpio. Our ruling planet of communication is wearing diplomatic scales, taking on the place of Venus as our goddess of Desire plunges into the abyss.

Mercury in Libra brings a diplomatic, relational intelligence that approaches communication through the lens of balance, symmetry, and mutual understanding. Ruled by Venus, this placement is inherently tuned into the nuances of other people’s perspectives. It’s an exceptional energy for negotiation, mediation, and finding common ground. Rather than rushing to blunt conclusions, Mercury in Libra weighs every option carefully. He seeks harmony and aesthetic grace in how ideas are exchanged. Yet, this graceful detachment can sometimes tip into hesitation or over-intellectualizing conflict. In an effort to keep the peace, we may trade raw honesty for pleasant equilibrium.

Uranus Stations Retrograde: Internal Rewiring

As we navigate the fresh adjustments of Venus, Mercury, and Chiron, Uranus brings in a massive internal reorientation. The great awakener stations Retrograde in Gemini on the day of the New Moon, turning those electric air-waves inward.

If the recent months felt like your mind was flooded with too many open tabs, Uranus backing up in Gemini is the cosmic cue to pause and close them out one by one. This isn’t about gathering more data. It’s time to digest the sheer volume of mental shifts, downloads, and sudden realizations you’ve accumulated. The voltage drops from a scattered hum to a deep, resonant frequency. Rethink how you process information, where you’re leaking mental energy, and what beliefs you’re ready to update.

A brilliant, flowing Air trine between Mercury in Libra, Pluto in Aquarius, and stationing Uranus acts as your mental escape hatch during this transition. Instead of getting bogged down in emotional noise, this configuration grants you great objective distance. It offers the mental agility to step back and look at your own thought patterns from a bird’s eye view. From this perspective, you can experience those sudden, flashing breakthroughs out of nowhere. It gives you the clarity to untangle old mental loops and step into a much sharper, lighter way of thinking.

Chiron re-enters Aries (September 17)

Chiron only just entered Taurus back in June, 2026. This period from June through mid-September has acted as a preview of the times to come. We had a brief taste of Taurus-led themes focusing on material security, physical comfort, and foundational values. But as Chiron stations Retrograde (having kicked off his backspin on August 3rd) and slips back into Aries on September 17, we are being pulled back into old territory.

From September 17 through April 14, Chiron allows us a final review period to ensure we have fully integrated the deep, sometimes uncomfortable lessons of Aries regarding identity, autonomy, and the courage to take up space. Because Chiron is Retrograde until January 6, these themes are coming back up for internal audit. With Chiron re-entering this sign in the lead-up to the Full Moon in Aries, this is a time of culmination. We are healing the wounds of the warrior and integrating the lessons learned on this front since 2018.

You can also look back on the last New Moon in Aries that we had on April 17, 2026. If something in your life began or developed at that time, between mid-April and mid-May, that seed is coming fully to fruition now. Think on it in terms of Aries themes, and see how this is related to your own healing journey. Is this new beginning a result of the work you’ve done on the topic of Aries in your chart?

Mabon (September 22): The Second Harvest Balancing Point

As the Sun crosses the threshold into Libra, we arrive at the Autumn Equinox — traditionally celebrated as Mabon. This is the festival of the second harvest, a sacred midpoint where day and night hang in perfect equilibrium. It’s a time to take stock of what we’ve cultivated, developed, and nurtured in our lives since Spring. We can offer genuine gratitude for the fruits of our labor while keeping our eyes on the horizon. We look forward to the final, quiet preparation of the third harvest, trusting in our bounty as the wheel turns fully into the dark.

As the Sun steps into relational, balanced Libra, he instantly encounters an opposition to Neptune in fiery, passionate Aries. This aspect blurs the line between our wishes and objective reality. It asks us to hold space for our spiritual or imaginative visions without losing our grip on practical ground.

Offering a profound anchor amidst this opposition, the Sun forms a harmonious trine to transformative Pluto in Aquarius. This trine gives us the personal power, psychological depth, and quiet resilience to metabolize the changes. We must clear out what no longer serves us and step firmly into a new state of balance.

Full Moon in Aries (September 26): Between Dreams & Reality

We hit the culmination of the Lunar cycle with the Full Moon in Aries, and she is sandwiched right between Saturn and Neptune, but only a few degrees apart from the latter. While Saturn demands fearless attention to stark realities, the Full Moon conjunct Neptune is fiercely energized by a dream. We feel an inner yearning and a pull toward freedom and independence. She wants to move forward unimpeded, but must come up against the obstacles Saturn insists on throwing in her way.

The real narrative tension of this lunation, however, belongs to the ruler of the chart: Mars at the final anaretic degree of Cancer, exactly square Chiron sitting at the final degree of Aries. Because Mars rules Aries, this is a massive, high-stakes confrontation. The anaretic degree is a point of crisis, completion, and holding on before a forced turning. It brings up core wounds around autonomy, identity, and courage. We must address the sore spot of Mars square Chiron before we can move forward.

This square isn’t here to punish us; it’s asking us to finally look at where we’ve been defensively armoring ourselves, offering a final chance to stitch up that old warrior wound so we don’t carry it into the fire of the next cycle.

Mars Enters Leo (September 27): Return of Bold Vitality

That explosive Mars-Chiron square acts as the ultimate energetic clearing-house, sweeping away old baggage just in time for a major thematic shift. Mars leaves cautious, protective Cancer and roaring into vibrant, expressive Leo.

After months of defensive maneuvering and emotional processing, Mars in Leo lights a bonfire under our creative output, our personal passions, and our drive to take up space. Our energy moves from guarded and indirect to warm, radiant, and unapologetically Out Loud. It’s an invitation to channel the breakthroughs of the Aries Full Moon straight into your self-expression. Lean into heart-centered leadership and creative sovereignty, reminding us how to play, create, and lead with our whole chest.

The Saturn Return Cycle: Tracking Saturn’s Lessons From Age 7 to 90

Why the Full Saturn Return Cycle Stretches from Age 7 to 90

When most people hear the words Saturn Return, their minds immediately go to the identity-shifting crucible of their late 20s. But the work of building a life doesn’t stop at age 30. From our first challenging childhood square at age 7 to the profound wisdom of the third Return at age 90, Saturn maps the entire arc of human maturation. Understanding this lifelong Saturn Return cycle changes how we view time, limitations, and the underlying meaning of our lives.

Getting to the Heart of Saturn

Before we can map out how his transits shape our decades on Earth, we have to understand the fundamental archetype of the planet himself. Saturn isn’t here to mollycoddle us. He’s a strict disciplinarian dealing out cold hard truths — regardless of how uncomfortable they might be. He was the literal limit of the known universe to ancient Astrologers. As the Father of Time, Saturn represents the boundaries and structures that shape our material existence.

Saturn writes the rules and lays the foundation, which we can learn to emulate for our own self-improvement. He can help us exercise dedication to the principles of self-discipline, focus, long-term stability and steadiness. He is slow, patient, and accumulative. Move at his pace, and you can build something of true lasting value with your efforts.

XXI. The World

In the Tarot, Major Arcana XXI. The World is traditionally ruled by Saturn — representing the final, triumphant crown of a long evolutionary journey. This card depicts the completion of a grand cycle and the mastery of the material realm. It’s the integration of all lessons learned within the sacred boundaries of existence. Just as The World crowns The Fool’s journey, Saturn acts as the ultimate container for our earthly experience. The World, with its implications of completion, graduation, and coming full circle, is a natural stand-in for the Saturn Return cycle.

The Gatekeeper of Time: Chronos

Saturn is also Chronos — the personification of Time itself. As Chronos, Saturn guards the boundary between mortal life and the final curtain. Every major Saturn transit acts as a literal aging threshold. It moves from the innocence of youth and difficulties of adolescence into adulthood. Afterward we still have to go through the trials of middle age, and finally into the quiet wisdom we can settle into as we age.

The Master of Time teaches us the difference between Chronos (clock time, a quantitative measurement) and Kairos (divine, opportune timing). Saturn forces us to slow down and embrace the real growth that can’t be rushed. While Chronos handles the relentless marching of the clock, Kairos is “the right, critical, or opportune moment” or “due measure.” This is the window where a divinely orchestrated shift actually takes root. Saturn teaches us that we cannot force this. We can only prepare the soil, build the container, and wait for the exact right moment when effort meets opportunity. When we try to rush a Saturnian cycle, we come up against his walls. But when we respect his pacing and put in the work, we can learn to strike precisely when the moment is ripe.

As the keeper of time, nothing is lost or forgotten under Saturn’s watch. Every choice, delay, and foundation laid (or neglected) accumulates on Saturn’s ledger. This is why his transits feel like a type of accounting. The Saturn Return is often talked about in terms of passing a test or having to take accountability. If you are naughty, Saturn will “hold you to account” when he comes full-circle.

The Greater Malefic

As he always settles the accounts, Saturn isn’t just a cosmic teacher, he’s also a ruthless harbinger of reality. Known as the Greater Malefic, he is the principle negative force. He rules limitation, restriction, coldness, loneliness, melancholy and misery, even imprisonment. According to Vettius Valens, he “causes humblings.”

In traditional Hellenistic Astrology, the planets are split by sect and condition into forces of expansion and forces of contraction. While the Benefics — Jupiter and Venus — foster growth, connection, and ease, the Malefics — Mars and Saturn — are assigned the difficult structural work of friction, pruning, and elimination. Being Malefic doesn’t mean Saturn’s inherently evil or cursed; it means that he operates as a force of necessity, a counter-balance to growth and expansion that keeps the universe balanced and in check.

Valens states that “Saturn is the star of Nemesis.” Nemesis is the Greek goddess of retribution, divine vengeance, and cosmic balance. She’s the force that humbles our hubris and brings to Earth anyone who oversteps their proper bounds. Saturn as Nemesis is the cosmic equalizer. Whenever we get too carried away, arrogant, or expansive (forgetting our mortal limits), Saturn steps in as the strict enforcer of reality to humble us, cut us down to size, and restore balance.

The Great Mother: Saturn as Feminine

In Qabalah, Binah (Understanding) is the third Sephirah on the Tree of Life, and it’s traditionally assigned to Saturn. It represents the cosmic principle of form, limitation, structure, and the Great Mother. She who gives shape to raw energy so it can manifest in the material universe. Spirit or raw force needs Binah’s boundaries to exist physically.

Binah is the negative pillar, the pillar of severity, and the ultimate feminine container or womb for all matter. Negative here doesn’t mean evil or bad. It refers to the principle of negation. That is, contraction or reception (as opposed to the active, positive, expansive energy of Chokmah).

What is a Saturn Return?

The Saturn Return cycle is when Saturn comes back into alignment with your natal Saturn. Saturn returns to the natal position once every 29.5 years or so. This is a time of completion, challenge, and advancement. A lot of attention is put on the first Saturn Return which occurs shortly before we turn 30. But there are other points in time that relate back to this Return. Certainly the ones that follow later in life are also important to pay attention to.

Krisis of Squares and Oppositions: the Foreshadowing

Understanding the Hellenistic concept of Krisis (critical turning points) can help when looking at Saturn transits (especially the squares, oppositions, and Returns). Krisis represents those moments where a situation or process reaches a critical junction. A decisive shift occurs, forcing a definitive judgement, separation, or restructuring before any further movement is possible.

Saturnian transits — specifically the Squares and Oppositions (around ages 7, 14, 21, 36, and every 7 years on) — act as these exact pressure points. They’re the structural checkpoints built into the architecture of your life.

Day Chart Versus Night Chart

Sect is a huge distinction. If you have a Day chart (born during the day), Saturn acts with more measured, constructive discipline (malice mitigated). If you have a Night chart (you were born at night), Saturn’s restrictive, isolating, and heavy qualities tend to feel much more sharp, burdensome, and obstructive. This can make the lessons of a Saturn Return cycle feel more difficult or intensely personal.

Saturnian Themes and Lessons

The Saturn Return Cycle in Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)

When Saturn — the principle of cold, restriction, and slow structural gravity — takes up residence in the blazing, expansive, and fast-moving domain of Fire, it creates an internal friction. Fire wants to leap forward, expand outward, and act on instinct. Saturn wants to halt, test the weight of the material, measure the distance, and demand a reason.

The lesson is in tempering your Fire, and building a structure that can contain it adequately. You have to play the long game to build your empire.

Saturn in Aries

Here, Saturn Falls by sign. This turns the natural impulse for raw, unbridled action into a prolonged test of endurance, courage, and self-mastery. Being born with this placement often means feeling an early, heavy burden of responsibility. You may encounter sharp blockages when trying to assert your will.

During your Saturn highlights, the lesson centers on learning that true courage isn’t reckless speed. It’s staying in the ring, pacing your energy, and building sustainable willpower instead of burning out in quick, erratic bursts.

Saturn in Leo

Saturn in the sign of the Sun places structural limits on personal expression, ego, and the need for validation or creative recognition. When you’re born with this placement you may grapple with a deep-seated imposter syndrome. There might be a feeling that your creative light must fight through thick clouds of doubt.

When Saturn hits, you’re forced to strip away performative ego and ask: What are you making that actually has structural integrity? It teaches you to anchor your self-worth in real, mastery-level craft rather than superficial applause.

Saturn in Sagittarius

Sagittarius loves wide-open horizons, philosophical exploration, and spontaneous freedom. Saturn here builds fences around the wanderer. Born with this placement, you might carry a profound internal quest for truth or higher meaning, tempered by an acute skepticism or fear of being wrong.

During your Saturn transits, rigid dogmas, belief systems, or ungrounded ideals are ruthlessly pruned away. The lesson is about building an authentic, highly disciplined philosophy of life — turning raw optimism into hard-won wisdom.

The Saturn Return Cycle in Earth Signs (Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo)

When Saturn — the planet of stone, structure, and time — enters an Earth sign, he is speaking his native language. Earth is the realm of the tangible, the physical, and the practical. Here, Saturn doesn’t have to break down doors to build a wall. He’s right at home laying bricks, measuring land, and demanding tangible, long-term proof of your labor.

Saturn in Capricorn

As the traditional ruler of Capricorn, Saturn operates with supreme authority here. This placement endows you with an innate, heavy-duty work ethic, deep ambition, and a profound sense of responsibility for building a secure, respectable tower in the world. However, the shadow is a crushing internal pressure to succeed and a fear of failure or public disgrace.

During your Saturn transits and returns, the universe tests the foundations of your career, authority, and public standing. The lesson is learning that true mastery requires integrity over ambition. You are more than just your titles or your output.

Saturn in Taurus

Taurus is the sign of sensory pleasure, material security, and the green bounty of the Earth. Saturn here introduces a slow, cautious, and sometimes scarcity-driven relationship with money, resources, and self-worth. You may struggle with a deep-seated fear of lack, or hold on far too tightly to possessions, routines, or relationships out of fear of change.

When Saturn transits land, life forces you to audit your relationship with comfort and value. It strips away dead weight and teaches you how to build a slow, unbreakable financial and emotional security that no storm can shake.

Saturn in Virgo

Virgo rules the daily craft, health, organization, and the meticulous refinement of systems. Saturn here turns the mind into an exacting craftsman — and a harsh internal critic. Those born with this placement often feel an overwhelming need for perfection, carrying anxiety if every detail isn’t precisely aligned.

During your Saturn cycles, perfectionism is put on trial. You are forced to confront burnout, bodily limits (like the body crying out for rest), and the realization that micro-managing the world cannot protect you from chaos. The lesson is learning how to serve your craft and your health sustainably. You can turn meticulous service into genuine mastery without sacrificing your well-being.

The Saturn Return Cycle in Air Signs (Libra, Aquarius, Gemini)

When Saturn enters an Air sign, the element of mind, communication, connection, and social structures becomes the workshop. Air wants to move freely, exchange ideas, network, and soar through concepts. Saturn introduces gravity to the wind. He demands that your thoughts, words, agreements, and ideals carry weight, withstand logic, and serve a functional purpose in the real world.

Saturn in Libra

As the sign of Saturn’s exaltation, Libra is where structure meets relational harmony, justice, and collaboration. Saturn here is the fair-minded judge, the architect of contracts, and the guardian of commitment. Those born with this placement take partnerships, fairness, and social obligations very seriously. You may carry heavy fears of isolation, conflict, or being abandoned by others.

During your Saturn transits, superficial or unbalanced relationships are forced to mature or dissolve. The lesson is learning that true connection requires clear boundaries, mutual accountability, and building partnerships that can weather real-world friction.

Saturn in Aquarius

As the ruler of Aquarius, Saturn feels completely at home here. Aquarius is the sign of collective ideals, networks, systems, and the future. Saturn in Aquarius is the master builder of social architecture. The one who takes visionary, rebellious concepts and constructs actual, functioning institutions for the collective good. Born with this placement, you might feel a profound sense of social alienation. You carry a heavy burden for the state of the collective while struggling to feel like you truly belong.

During your Saturn transits, you must audit your relationship to social groups, friends, and your vision for the future. You have to audit and learn to live by your own code of ethics. Turn idealistic rebellion into practical, enduring change. You must build systems that serve humanity without burning out your own spirit in the process.

Saturn in Gemini

Gemini rules the mind, speech, writing, local connections, and the endless gathering of information. Saturn here acts as an editor and a structural disciplinarian for how you process and share data. Those born with this placement often grapple with mental overload, self-doubt around intelligence, or a fear of saying the wrong thing. There can be a more cautious communication style.

When Saturn transits come in, your mental frameworks are put to the test. Scattered projects, superficial networks, or ungrounded ideas are pruned away. The lesson is mastering the power of focused thought, deep intellectual discipline, and learning that your words carry real consequence.

The Saturn Return Cycle in Water Signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces)

When Saturn enters a Water sign, the element of emotion, memory, intuition, and the unconscious becomes the crucible. Water wants to flow, merge, feel everything, and dissolve boundaries. Saturn introduces the dam, the pressure-vessel, and the deep-sea diving bell. He forces emotional currents into containers, demanding that your feelings, vulnerabilities, and psychic depths learn how to build structure rather than erode away in endless floods.

Saturn in Cancer

Here, Saturn is in detriment, meaning he feels profoundly out of his element. Like a cold, dry stone dropped into a warm, sensitive ocean. Cancer rules home, family, emotional safety, roots, and belonging. Saturn in Cancer often brings early emotional burdens, a feeling of not being truly protected, or deep-seated anxiety around security and abandonment. Those born with this placement build massive emotional walls to guard a tender core.

Your foundations of home, family dynamics, and emotional self-reliance experience immense pressure when Saturn comes around. True security cannot be outsourced to a place or a person. You must become your own emotional parent, building an unshakeable inner sanctuary.

Saturn in Scorpio

Scorpio rules the deep waters of transformation, shared resources, psychological shadow, intimacy, and rebirth. Saturn here is an intense, unyielding alchemist. Those born with this placement carry a profound gravity regarding trust, control, and vulnerability. There can be a fear of betrayal or deep emotional entanglement so intensely that they maintain rigid, silent boundaries.

When Saturn transits slide in, life strips away superficial connections and forces you into the crucible of radical honesty. You’ll look at your shadows, untangle power dynamics, and shed old skins. The lesson is for you to master emotional resilience and discover that true power comes from unyielding self-mastery. You realize over time that what belongs to the distant past or the darkest shadow must emerge into the light to heal.

Saturn in Pisces

Pisces is the final sign of the Zodiac — the vast, boundless ocean of dreams, collective consciousness, dissolution, and spiritual surrender. Saturn here is the anchor in the middle of an endless sea. Those born with this placement often struggle between a longing for transcendent escape and an overwhelming, heavy anxiety about the harsh realities of the material world. You may feel burdened by the suffering of others or prone to emotional exhaustion and burnout.

You will be systematically dismantling your escapist tendencies, ungrounded fantasies, or self-sacrificing patterns during your Saturn lineups. The lesson is learning how to build spiritual boundaries. You will translate transcendent ideals into tangible, compassionate acts of service without drowning in the collective tide.

The First Chapter: Leading into the First Return

Before Saturn ever demands a full accounting of our lives in our late 20s, he lays down early encounters with difficult truths and structural pressure tests. These childhood and adolescent transits are our first encounters with gravity, rules, and the harshness of reality.

The First Square (~ Age 7)

Around age 7, Saturn makes his first square to his natal position. This is a massive developmental milestone — the transition out of early childhood into social accountability. Culturally, this is traditionally marked by the “age of reason.” Suddenly, children are expected to sit in school desks, follow institutional rules, and understand consequences outside the immediate safety of their toddler years.

It’s our first taste of structured responsibility and learning that the world operates on rules outside of our direct control. This may be a time when we first learn how to grapple with ideas around religion, war, dysfunctional family dynamics, death or other grown-up topics. We begin to have a separation from the fantasy and innocence of childhood.

The First Opposition (~ Age 14)

Hitting around adolescence (that lovely age of 14), our first Saturn opposition brings a heavy dose of angst. Authority figures undermine and challenge our need for freedom. Teenagers can experience intense tension with parents, teachers, and societal expectations at this time. The internal pressure is a desperate, often painful need to define who I am separate from who I was told to be. Here we wrestle with alienation, rules that feel suffocating, and the heavy realization of mortality, injustice, and other difficult social realities.

The Second Square (~ Age 22)

Standing at the threshold of legal adulthood, the second square is the stress test of your early independence. By 21, the romanticized notions of youth collide with real-world material survival — rent, jobs, higher education pressures, and the awkward transition of finding your footing as a legal and functioning adult. It is a time of minor structural collapses where unviable paths or unsustainable lifestyles start cracking under the weight of adult expectations.

The First Return (~ Age 29)

This is the big one — the cornerstone transit everyone talks about. Around age 28-29, Saturn completes his first full 360-degree journey around your chart and returns to his exact natal placement.

The First Saturn Return is not just a passing phase; it is a structural demolition and reconstruction. Whatever career paths, relationships, identities, or lifestyle choices you cobbled together in your 20s simply based on what was expected of you, what felt comfortable, or what you thought you should want are put to a merciless test. If the foundation is built on sand, Saturn washes it away.

This period often brings intense professional reckonings, milestones, breakups, existential crises, and a deep-seated feeling of being squeezed until every drop of unearned illusion is wrung out of you. But the cruelty of Saturn here is entirely constructive. He strips away the scaffolding of the false self so you can finally build your actual, authentic life. When you emerge on the other side of 30, you aren’t just older — you’re more grounded, fortified, and stepping into a deeper level of maturity.

After your Saturn Return

Once you clear your first Return, you enter a long, expansive stretch of building. But Saturn never lets you rest on your laurels completely. Between the first and second returns, Saturn administers critical checkpoints to test whether your adult life is truly sustainable and pushes you to the limit. Each test makes you stronger in your resolve and may teach you about how to build better structures in the world.

Cycle 2: Opening Square (~ Age 37)

When transiting Saturn squares your natal Saturn for the first time since your Saturn Return, you come up against external pressure. Your career, familial or monetary structures, or other lifestyle choices you have forged in your first phase of adulthood face a serious reality test. It’s a moment of waking up and asking: Is this actually working? Minor cracks in your life’s architecture become impossible to ignore, demanding adjustments before they turn into major structural failures.

Cycle 2: Opposition (~ Age 44)

Arriving hand-in-hand with the classic mid-life transit cluster (like the Uranus opposition and Neptune square), the Saturn opposition brings a profound course correction. Here, Saturn opposes his natal position, marking the halfway point between your first and second returns. You look back at the first half of your adult life and forward to the second. It often brings a wave of reckoning around aging and unfulfilled potentials. There can be a marked refinement in our career or personal lives. There’s a necessity to realign your path with what truly matters before time moves into its next phase.

Cycle 2: Closing Square (~ Age 51)

The closing square leading into your Second Saturn Return acts as the final enforcement mechanism of your mid-life restructuring. Decisions made, paths abandoned, or responsibilities accepted now demand concrete integration. It is a time of shedding any lingering youthful habits for good and fully stepping into the weight and authority of mature middle age.

The Second Return (~ Age 59)

Around age 60, Saturn completes his second full orbit of your chart. If the first Saturn Return is about demolishing the false self to build an adult life, the 2nd Return is the initiation into the wisdom of the elder. We have learned by now not only “how to adult,” but what are the systems and structures that don’t work for us. We understand how to better navigate reality. But as we age, our focus may turn to thoughts of what we’re building in the world that will outlast us after we leave.

By this stage, the frantic ambition of building a career, raising children, and proving yourself to the world begins to recede. Saturn here asks a different, more profound set of questions: What legacy are you leaving? What wisdom have you distilled from decades of triumph and failure? Are you living authentically in your authority? This is a time of shedding old professional titles or lifestyle roles that no longer fit. We start stepping away from the grind, and claiming the hard-won sovereignty of the wise elder. It can bring physical check-ins as the body slows down its pace. But it also offers a deep, unshakeable peace for those who have learned how to honor Saturn’s rules over a lifetime.

Cycle 3: Opening Square (~ Age 66)

In your mid-60s, the opening square acts as the initial adjustment to this new, more mature chapter. It tests how well you’re adapting your daily life, health routines, and energy levels to this more deliberate phase of life. It’s a natural friction point where the structures of your working years can finally give way to complete autonomy. This forces you to renegotiate your relationship with time, redefine your daily purpose outside of external output, and establish sustainable boundaries for your physical vitality.

Cycle 3: Opposition (~ Age 74)

Just like the opposition in your mid-40s acts as the halfway marker between your first and second returns, this third opposition hits halfway between your second and third returns. This can mark a profound shift in perspective. You’ll re-evaluate everything you’ve built before heading toward that final Saturn homecoming around age 88-89.

At this time you might take inventory internally as Saturn comes in to challenge you once more. Saturn brings to the surface any lingering issues around legacy, unsaid words, or unfinished business, demanding psychological and spiritual closure. It’s a command to look honestly at how you’re spending your remaining capital of time and energy. You confront whatever friction is left around how you’ve lived and what your spirit demands.

Cycle 3: Closing Square (~ Age 81)

This is the final structural stress test before the ultimate cycle. At this threshold, Saturn forces you to grapple with blockages and reality once again. It’s a time of integration and simplification. You can release some of the heavier obligations, transfer wisdom or responsibilities, and reflect on a lifetime of lessons. Eventually you anchor into a quiet peace where your only real duty is to honor the truth of your own story.

The Third Return (~ Age 88)

The 3rd Return — completing around age 88-89 — is a sacred, rarified threshold. Here, Saturn returns to his natal home for the third time, closing the final loop of the human lifespan. At this stage, the material world holds very little leverage over the soul. You’ve done great work in integrating the lessons of time, discipline, and endurance. It is the archetype of the Sage. You’re vying with detachment from the mundane noise, the ultimate mastery of spirit over matter, and a certain resting at the center of the wheel.

Integrating the Lesson

To work with Saturn rather than against him is to stop viewing his transits as punishments and to start seeing them as masterclass architectures. Saturn does not ask for perfection; he asks for endurance, honesty, and accountability.

During positive Saturn transits — the sextiles and the trines, not to mention contacts he makes to other planets and angles in the birth chart — we can work constructively with Saturn’s critical infrastructure. Use these transits well, and it can be the difference between acing a sudden pop quiz and getting caught blindsided when we didn’t read the book before class.

When you feel the weight of Saturn bearing down — whether it’s the squeeze of a Return or the confrontation of a Square — remember to stop and take account of reality, and work diligently toward what the best path forward is. Move at Saturn’s slow, deliberate pace with patience and dedication to the long-view. When you tend to your daily foundations with honor and discipline, you build inner fortitude and create a path to success. Keep strong boundaries like Saturn that protect you spiritually, mentally, and physically.

Mercury Cazimi + Pisces Lunar Eclipse: Clarity in Surrender (August 27, 2026)

How the Exalted Mercury Cazimi in Virgo Catalyzes the Pisces Lunar Eclipse

At the end of August 2026, an ethereal Pisces Lunar Eclipse is set to wholly mesmerize us. On the very same day, on August 27, an exalted Mercury Cazimi in Virgo marks the single most illuminating moment during the messenger god’s synodic cycle. What’s more, this is the penultimate Eclipse on the Virgo/Pisces axis, representing an evolutionary shift that has been working on us since mid-September 2024. The illumination potential of this Eclipse day is through the roof — and the best way to integrate its lessons is to sink into those intuitive waters while Mercury catalogues your psychic impressions at high speed.

The Anatomy of Mercury’s Synodic Cycle

What is a Synodic Cycle? It’s simply the dance and relationship between two celestial bodies — in this case, how Mercury loops around the Sun from our perspective on Earth. Every synodic cycle of Mercury’s features two distinct times when Mercury aligns perfectly with the Sun (A Cazimi, that magical moment when he’s reborn in the heart of the Sun).

The first Cazimi happens during Mercury’s Retrograde phase and is called the Inferior Conjunction. This acts as a Mercurial “New Moon.” This is a subterranean, introspective reset. It’s messy, deeply psychological, and asks us to shed old mental frameworks.

After Mercury stations Direct and clears the shadow of his Retrograde, he rapidly gathers speed and rushes forward to reunite with the Sun. This second conjunction happens when Mercury is at his sharpest and his quickest, and it’s known as the Superior Conjunction. It is effectively like a Mercurial “Full Moon.” Because Mercury is moving forward with speed and clarity, illuminated fully by the Solar rays without the chaos of a Retrograde blur, it represents peak objective clarity, synthesis, and revelation.

Why an Exalted Mercury Cazimi Ups the Ante & The Eclipse Internalizes the Messages

Under normal circumstances, a Superior Cazimi is already considered a lucky, high-clarity window where intellectual breakthroughs, contracts, and big ideas are crystallized. We’ve tapped into this alignment as the backbone of powerful series like I. The Magician (Mercury Cazimi in Aries) and XVII. The Star (Mercury Cazimi in Capricorn during the Winter Solstice).

But this Mercury Cazimi in Virgo is an even more auspicious omen than usual, as Mercury is in his sign of Exaltation. In Virgo, Mercury isn’t just comfortable and at home, he’s in the place where he has optimal performance and is grounded enough to let his brilliant mind spin beautifully. Here he’s operating with maximum analytical efficiency and precision.

However, there’s a crucial twist: this wonderful Superior, Exalted Mercury Cazimi is locked into a Lunar Eclipse. This effectively shuts down any chances of utilizing this energy in a conscious, intentional way to realize results in the external realm. The energy of an Eclipse is not a time for initiating activity, and this turns Mercury’s green light yellow. The clarity is still there — piercing, brilliant, and exalted — but it is meant for your inner archive, not your public launchpad. This Mercury Cazimi becomes more of a spiritual anchor, a vessel for gathering insight and awareness born from the revelations of the Lunar Eclipse.

The Lunar Eclipse in Pisces: Surrendering to Faith

A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces brings a highly psychic, intuitive awareness to the fore. Lunar Eclipses differ from Solar Eclipses in that they’re more focused on things coming to light, being revealing and illuminating in nature. A New Moon Solar Eclipse opens and closes doors; the Lunar Eclipse sheds light on the subconscious patterns running through the larger cycle.

With a T-square to electric Uranus in Gemini, this Lunar Eclipse and baked-in Mercury Cazimi is full of insights and surprises around every corner. This is a jolting influence that forces us to think outside the box and can bring unexpected developments during the illuminating moment of the Full Moon. Uranus paired with Mercury Cazimi breeds massive insights, sometimes jarring, where you may suddenly realize some things that were previously hidden from your awareness but now seem so obvious.

This magnificent moment of emotional and spiritual culmination is led by Jupiter, inspiring us to have faith that everything is aligning in just the right way. Pisces energy asks us to surrender our will to the power of the cosmic wave that washes over us, dissolving boundaries and illusions of separation, reminding us that we’re all connected to something greater than just ourselves.

Even the Virgo Sun and Mercury, as grounded and down-to-earth as they are, lend their analytical lens to the psychic undercurrent that now runs through our lives. Our busy minds take on a Hermit’s incentive to shine a lantern on our inner matrix. The insights gleaned from journaling and practicing divination at this time can be truly great.

Wrapping up a Cycle: The Penultimate Virgo-Pisces Eclipse

This Eclipse series started on September 17, 2024 with a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces. The Nodes shifted onto the Virgo-Pisces axis officially on January 11, 2025.

Eclipses in this Series

  • September 17, 2024 — 25 degrees 40 minutes — Lunar Eclipse in Pisces
  • March 13, 2025 — 23 degrees 56 minutes — Lunar Eclipse in Pisces
  • September 7, 2025 — 15 degrees 22 minutes — Lunar Eclipse in Pisces
  • September 21, 2025 — 29 degrees 05 minutes — Solar Eclipse in Virgo
  • March 3, 2026 — 12 degrees 53 minutes — Lunar Eclipse in Virgo
  • August 27, 2026 — 4 degrees 54 minutes — Lunar Eclipse in Pisces (You are Here)
  • February 20, 2027 — 2 degrees 5 minutes — Lunar Eclipse in Virgo

Tying the Threads: Looking Backward to Track the Storyline

Eclipses don’t just happen to us in a vacuum; they belong to a long, breathing family history of stories. Because this Lunar Eclipse in Pisces is the penultimate chapter of the current Virgo-Pisces series — which officially kicked off on September 17, 2024 — we are standing at the threshold of a massive narrative wrap-up.

To understand what this Eclipse is asking you to release, integrate, or surrender, you have to look at how this axis operates: the South Node in analytical, hyper-fixated, control-seeking Virgo is meeting its end on this axis, while the North Node in boundless, psychic, surrender-oriented Pisces guides us forward. With the South Node in Virgo and the North Node in Pisces, we are being pulled toward intuition over logic, the spiritual over the material.

Take a moment to cast your mind back to mid-September 2024. What themes, job shifts, health realizations, or paradigm changes were beginning to take root in your life then? That was the inciting incident for the book you are finishing right now.

If you want to zoom out even further into the larger karmic wheel, consider the echoes of past Zodiac flips:

  • The Last Time the Nodes Were on This Axis (Flipped): 2015-2017 (North Node in Virgo, South Node in Pisces)
  • The Last Time We Had This Exact Polarity Configuration: 2006-2007 (South Node in Virgo, North Node in Pisces)

If major life reviews or structural changes feel reminiscent of what you navigated back in 2006-2007, you aren’t imagining things — you’re closing out a deeply ingrained generational loop regarding how you handle service, structure, surrender, and spiritual trust.

The Sacred Polarity: Virgo, Pisces, and the Axis of Healing

Every Zodiac axis is a mirror, but the opposition between Virgo and Pisces represents one of the most profound spiritual balancing acts on the wheel: the dance between form and formlessness, the mundane and the mystical, the details and the undivided whole.

Virgo (The Alchemist of Matter) is ruled by Mercury. Virgo seeks holiness through purity, refinement, and service to the material world. It is the archetype of the sacred artisan, the herbalist carefully measuring out tinctures, and the analytical mind breaking down chaos into order. Virgo understands that the divine is found in the details — in the daily ritual, the mundane upkeep of the physical vessel, and the relentless pursuit of improvement.

Pisces (the Ocean of Spirit) is ruled by Jupiter and Neptune. Pisces dissolves all boundaries, beckoning us toward total surrender, cosmic unity, and unconditional love and compassion. Where Virgo tries to name and organize every piece of the puzzle, Pisces contends the puzzle pieces don’t even exist. Each water droplet is connected seamlessly to the whole when we’re swimming in an infinite ocean.

The Shadow of this Axis

The shadow of Virgo is spiritual burnout through hyper-control and overworking. It’s the trap of believing that if we just put every last drop of our energy into some external system, we can fix it. The goal with Virgo is to always work to make everything better. The shadow of Pisces, meanwhile, lies in spiritual escapism. It has a profound overwhelm with the material world and avoidance of reality. Pisces can easily lose oneself entirely in the mist of those endless seas. It’s here where the boundary between Self and Other ceases to exist.

What the two share in common is the idea of Sacrifice. They both act in Service to something bigger than themselves. For Virgo, it’s something outside of themselves. For Pisces, it’s something they belong to that ultimately erases their sense of separateness from the whole.

An eclipse on this axis — especially one anchored by an exalted, crystal-clear Mercury in Virgo — acts as a divine bridge between these two worlds. Where have you been gripping too tightly to control the outcome? Where do you need to surrender to the current?

Instead of choosing one side, this celestial alignment forces us to integrate both. We use Virgo’s sharp, discerning intellect to anchor the profound, psychic revelations of the Pisces Lunar Eclipse into our everyday lives, turning spiritual insight into grounded, embodied wisdom.

Grounding the Shift: Journal Prompts and Chiron in Taurus Bodywork

When an Eclipse cycle meets an Exalted Mercury Cazimi, the volume of our internal landscape gets turned all the way up. But cosmic insight without grounded integration just turns into mental static. To truly harness this energy, we have to bring it down from the stars and into our physical bodies and daily rituals.

Here is how you can work with this alignment practically:

  1. Journal Work: Untangling Logic and Faith. Take out your journal and move pen over page without censoring yourself. Reflect on these core questions: Where have I been overusing logic, structure, and endless fixing (Virgo South Node) to avoid surrendering to a necessary emotional or spiritual evolution (Pisces North Node)? What is the core story that began for me back in September 2024 that is finally coming to closure now? What new truth is Mercury Cazimi illuminating in my life right now? What have the main messages and lessons of this time period been? How will I carry this forward to the final Eclipse in February?
  2. Bodywork and Somatic Integration: Tending to Chiron in Taurus. Because the Eclipse and Mercury sit in Earth-Water polarity while Chiron continues its slow deep transit through Taurus, our physical bodies are holding the scorecard. Taurus rules the physical vessel, our relationship to comfort, and our physical boundaries. Take this as an opportunity for a somatic check-in. Eclipses on this axis can manifest as physical tension, exhaustion, deep detox and realignment. Instead of pushing through the fatigue, use this window for radical physical rest and recentering. Practice intentional foot-and-leg grounding stretches, or place your bare feet directly on the earth.
  3. The Ritual Reset: Acting in Service to Your Own Sacred Temple. Take an epsom salt bath infused with calming herbs (try our Jupiter in Pisces ritual bath salts). Consciously ask your body to release the tension and stress it’s been carrying while trying to manage the unmanageable. Let Virgo’s love for ritual serve your own physical vessel. The time has come to stop putting endless pressure on it in service to someone else’s vision. Let those tethers dissolve in the ritual waters as you shed, release, and invite understanding.

Trusting the Lunar Tides

As this powerful Eclipse unfolds on August 27, 2026, remember that you aren’t expected to have all the answers mapped out on a spreadsheet. This isn’t about launching a new project into the external world. It’s about allowing your inner compass to recalibrate.

You’re closing the book on a two-year karmic cycle that began back in September 2024. You’re shedding the heavy armor of hyper-control and stepping into a softer, deeper kind of wisdom. Let the analytical clarity of Virgo organize your insights, but let the boundless grace of Pisces carry you forward. Sink into the quiet, trust the surrender, and let the current take you exactly where you need to be.

Solar Eclipse in Leo 2026: A Self-Focused Reset

Navigating the Solar Eclipse in Leo (August 12, 2026)

What makes a Solar Eclipse in Leo so special?

A Total Solar Eclipse is one of the most potent cosmic accelerators we can experience. Any standard New Moon offers a quiet Tabula Rasa or empty space in which you can set your monthly intentions. But whereas a New Moon is a hollowed out piece of ground in which you lay a delicate seed, a Solar Eclipse is the giant crater left behind by a massive meteor smashing into the earth.

Spiritually, the mechanics tell the whole story: the Moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun, temporarily plunging the world into shadow and extinguishing the solar light. In esoteric astrology, this temporary blackout represents a profound cosmic reset.

Here is what makes the spiritual meaning of a total solar eclipse so unique:

  • The Accelerator of Destiny: Solar eclipses tend to force doors open or slam them shut in the external material world. They often coincide with major life turning points, sudden plot twists, career shifts, or realizations that alter the trajectory of your path. Events occurring around a solar eclipse often carry a heavy, fated, or catalytic quality.
  • The Shadow and the Unconscious: When the Sun (your conscious ego, sense of vitality, and outward-facing self) is eclipsed by the Moon (your subconscious emotional undercurrents and instinctual self), the hidden parts of your psyche are dragged out into the harsh light of day. This strips away your illusions and forces you to look at what you’ve been ignoring in your everyday, waking life.
  • A Portal for Radical Reinvention: Because the light is momentarily wiped clean, a solar eclipse provides a massive energetic portal to shed outdated identities. It asks: Who are you when the external validation, old titles, and familiar safety nets are stripped away?

The Fire of Leo and The South Node Purge

In fiery, proud, heart-centered Leo, our focus is on the creative Self. We’re seeking authenticity above all else, and stepping into our own, individual authority while learning not to apologize! Here we are thrust directly into the heart of the zodiac’s most dramatic, passionate, and ego-driven arena.

Judith Hill called eclipses on the South Node “power outages” and I find that fitting for this lunation. It’s almost like a power surge — as Jupiter in Leo amplifies the energy — where we’re finally compelled to turn away from the overwhelming brilliance of the stage lights. This eclipse asks us to empty our pockets of those weak, outdated patterns of needing outside validation, constant vigilance in self-defense, and illusions about who we “have to be” to be (somehow) deemed worthy.

Shedding the Armor: Pluto in Aquarius

Leo energy can sometimes slip into the shadow of performing for an audience, tying self-worth strictly to outside validation. As if a total solar eclipse in Leo wasn’t enough a fire-ball on its own, we have the Sun and Mercury in Leo sitting opposite Pluto. This is echoing the raw, overwhelming intensity of the Full Moon in Aquarius and Jupiter Cazimi that we had on July 29.

Aquarius opposite forces us to be authentic to our own code of ethics apart from what society demands of us. We have to hold our own point of view with conviction and staying power, without the applause, recognition, or showering of attention that Leo is accustomed to.

This isn’t about dimming your light; it’s about purifying it. The South Node demands that we burn away the performative armor so that when the solar reset happens, the creativity, leadership, and heart-centered courage rising from the ashes are entirely real, sovereign, and untethered from outside influences.

The Effect of Jupiter’s Copresence in Leo

With Jupiter co-present in Leo, the power of the eclipse is magnified. Jupiter exaggerates the dryness, the heat, and the blinding brilliance of this Leo Eclipse territory. He expands and embellishes the unmatched stepping-into-leadership potential of this lunation.

Although, while Jupiter is a benefic and brings his blessing to this transformation, he also has a dark side. Jupiter is prone to excess, and this New Moon can easily feel like “too much.” Between Leo’s penchant for going over the top, Mercury’s mega-phone blasting the bold Leonine message for all to hear, and Jupiter rushing in to save the day, this Total Solar Eclipse is looking like a stellar flash-bang.

In fact, there is a long void of course period after the very intense Solar Eclipse in Leo. It lasts from the 13th to the 15th when the Moon finally enters Libra. This traditional Void of Course period acts as a fallow, empty zone where not much is happening and absolutely nothing is getting off the ground. We have to give it a few days for the dust to settle.

Mercury conjunct Jupiter also on the 15th indicates that there is this final, lucky breakthrough moment after a long pause following that first, scorching hot eclipse.

Creative Elements of the Solar Eclipse in Leo

The energy is fast and the heat is on — but it isn’t all fire and brimstone. Mercury and Venus are both dancing with the outer planets in the lead up to the solar eclipse, giving us some much needed creative inspiration:

  • Mercury trine Neptune (August 11): This fluid, imaginative trine acts as a gentle creative whisper right before the eclipse peak. It dissolves mental clutter, bridges logic with intuition, and opens up a clear channel for divine inspiration, dreamwork, and poetic expression.
  • Mercury sextiles both Uranus in Gemini (August 12) and Venus in Libra (August 13): These quick-witted, lightning-fast aspects bring sudden flashes of insight, out-of-the-box networking ideas, and harmonious social currents. It gives your mind the agility to pivot and catch the electrical current of the eclipse without feeling completely overwhelmed.
  • Venus trines Pluto (August 10) and Uranus (August 11) in Air signs — forming a beautiful Grand Air Trine: This configuration supercharges your relational and artistic life with profound depth and liberating shifts. The Venus-Pluto connection pulls up deep, transformative desires from the subconscious, while the connection to Uranus sparks exciting, unexpected breakthroughs in how you express love, value, and aesthetic creation.

How to Get Through the Harshness of the Eclipse

When an eclipse hits like a meteor crater, the immediate aftermath can feel less like a gentle transition and more like a rolling blackout. Between the intense South Node purge and Jupiter super-sizing the heat, you might feel the urge to scatter your energy trying to fix everything at once.

Navigating the raw intensity of this portal comes down to three anchoring practices:

  • Embrace the Power Outage: Remember that long void-of-course period stretching from August 13th to the 15th? This is your built-in energetic blackout. Do not try to force things off the ground or hustle your way through the dust settling. Give yourself permission to power down, process the shockwave, and let the cosmic noise quiet down.
  • Stand in Unapologetic Sovereignty: Leo energy asks you to step into leadership, but not the performative, crowd-pleasing “what you’re suppose to do” variety. Aquarius’s tension demands that you stay true to your own code of ethics and authentic inner needs without apology. Let go of the desire for external validation or applause; your only job is to anchor into your truth.
  • Deepen into Grounded Bodywork: As the initial flash-bang of the eclipse gives way to the intellectualizing spin of Mercury squaring Uranus, pull your focus out of your head and back into your body. Lean into intentional, slow movement and tactical grounding practices to help integrate the seismic shifts happening beneath the surface.

Completion of the Current Cycle: A 6-Month Chapter

The ripple effect of a Solar Eclipse is that it acts as a starting point for a cycle that will reach it’s completion during the Full Moon 6 months later. The Full Moon in Leo (January 22, 2027) represents the follow-up to today’s starting point — and what a massive mirror it will be.

While this August Solar Eclipse strips away your armor to authenticate your true strengths, the upcoming January Full Moon will test how well you’ve integrated those lessons. That midwinter lunation arrives with a heavy, uncompromising line-up in Aquarius: Pluto, the South Node, the Sun, and Mercury all clustered together in the sign of the collective, the rebel, and the visionary.

This means the seeds you plant now — and the illusions you burn away — are building toward a profound reckoning at the start of next year. The choices you make now to step into authentic, unapologetic leadership without the crutch of external validation will determine how you weather that heavy Aquarius/Leo rollout. Over the next six months, and beyond, the cosmos is asking you to transition away from performing for others and step fully into the living for the purity your own inner code.

Leo-Aquarius Eclipses and the Lunar New Year x3

Our first foray into the eclipses on the Leo/Aquarius axis happened to be the Lunar New Year, welcoming in the Year of the Fire Horse, on February 17, 2026. Incidentally, the next two Lunar New Years also happen to be solar eclipses on the Leo/Aquarius axis. Here’s a full line up of Eclipses happening on this axis:

  • February 17, 2026: Solar Eclipse in Aquarius (Lunar New Year: Year of the Fire Horse — Yang Fire) 28’49
  • August 12: Solar Eclipse in Leo 20’01
  • February 6, 2027: Solar Eclipse in Aquarius 17’37 (Lunar New Year: Year of the Fire Goat – Yin Fire)
  • August 2, 2027: Solar Eclipse in Leo 9’55
  • August 17, 2027: Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius 24’11
  • January 26, 2028: Solar Eclipse in Aquarius 6’11 (Lunar New Year: Year of the Earth Monkey)

What Follows: The Partial Lunar Eclipse in Pisces (August 27)

The Lunar Eclipse in Pisces, arriving hand-in-hand with a razor-sharp Virgo Mercury Cazimi, is a whole different animal than the first eclipse. This is where the walls dissolve.

The Solar Eclipse demanded an externalized push. The Pisces Lunar Eclipse asks for surrender, deep psychic clearing, and emotional processing. Under this watery sky, stagnant residue and psychic static are brought to the surface to be washed clean by the tides. The Lunar Eclipse is more internal, dissolving, psychic, and deeply healing.

To anchor this profound dissolution without getting lost in the fog, we lean into the hidden depths of the subconscious. As Jupiter forms a harmonious trine to Saturn to close out the month, the scattered pieces finally lock back into place.

The Mercury Cazimi Integration

Mercury clears the shadow of his recent retrograde on August 6, then blasts through Leo from August 9th-25th on his way to meet up with the Sun.

Mercury is going to be crossing the South Node in Leo, which has a powerful clearing effect. Now prepped and ready for his superior conjunction with the Sun, Mercury finds the light in Virgo. This highly insightful moment of Mercury Cazimi is like a “Mercury Full Moon.” Right in his sign of exaltation in Virgo, Mercury is reborn in the middle of the soulful Pisces Lunar Eclipse.

This Mercury Cazimi not only trines Chiron, supporting our grounding bodywork, but it also squares electric Uranus, causing unexpected breakthroughs at a significant moment of maximum insight and illumination. These insights will be best processed through feelings and not the intellect, although the square to Uranus highlights our desire to intellectualize and catalogue our findings.

The Chiron Undercurrent: Anchoring in Bodywork

The wounded healer Chiron entered Taurus recently, and we are only beginning to realize the lessons he carries and the structural and foundational body-work and hands-on tactical work that lies ahead. This month Chiron stations Retrograde in Taurus on August 3rd, turning that energy inward for the first time where it has a chance to percolate and deepen its charge.

A number of transits point at this Chiron undercurrent during the course of the month, with inner planets entering new signs and encountering the wounded centaur as they do so:

  • Mercury will square Chiron on August 9th directly after entering Leo.
  • Mars forms a helpful sextile to Chiron — on the day of the Solar Eclipse in Leo — after he moves into Cancer.
  • The Sun and Mercury will both trine Chiron directly after moving into Virgo, ushering in the end of Summer.
  • What’s more, the Mercury Cazimi in Virgo — which happens on the day of Lunar Eclipse in Pisces — is in a harmonious trine to Chiron in Taurus.

With Mercury, the Sun, Mars, and both Eclipses pointing back to Chiron Retrograde in Taurus, August becomes a month of deepening into internal processing and anchoring the body through slow, intentional movement. The Hierophant series is the perfect companion for Chiron in Taurus, and is an important feature of this month’s Astral Current ritual bundle.

Chiron in Taurus: The Initiation (June 19 – September 17, 2026)

May 2023 Astrology

Chiron First Enters Taurus (June 19 – September 17, 2026)

The Wound is fresh! Chiron has left the hyper-separated arena of Aries for its first foray into the Earthen, muddy terrain of slow and dedicated Taurus. From June 19 to September 17, 2026, we get our first taste of this new ground.

Taurus is the sign of building, fortifying, and guarding boundaries. It is the literal fortress, the earthen wall, the tangible resource. It is the boundary that says “what is mine is safe, and I will hold my ground.”

Moving from Aries into Taurus, we shift from the fight of Aries to the deep, protective consolidation of Taurus. Where have your protective walls become rigid? Where are you stagnant, or driven by a scarcity mindset? The goal here is to build secure, sustainable boundaries.

Chiron Turns Retrograde (August 3, 2026 – January 6, 2027)

This month Chiron stations Retrograde in Taurus on August 3rd. This turns that sticky need-for-healing energy inward for the first time. Now it has a chance to percolate and deepen its charge.

A number of transits in August 2026 point back at this Chiron undercurrent. Right in the middle of the intensity of Eclipse season, we see the inner planets entering new signs and immediately encountering the wounded centaur:

Chiron will return to Aries from September 17, 2026 to April 14, 2027, having stationed direct on January 6. Then we will have a Chiron in Taurus lockdown until July 19, 2033. For this 6-year period, the wounded one will lock in for his uninterrupted, deep-tissue evolutionary run in Taurus. After 3 months in Gemini, he’ll have one final clearance through the Taurean mountains. That last piece of the puzzle runs from October 23, 2033 to May 5, 2034.

What Chiron in Taurus Signifies

When the wounded healer moves from the fiery, sharp edges of Aries into the dense, receptive soil of Taurus, the nature of our healing shifts from the heroic battle to the slow work of rehabilitation. This is where we stop fighting our ghosts and start tending our roots. Chiron in Taurus forces a reckoning with how we inhabit our physical bodies. How do we secure our survival? Where have our attachments to scarcity or material panic kept us frozen in place?

We must look squarely at our relationship to resources, wealth, comfort, and the tangible world. We do this not from a place of abstract theory, but through direct, unvarnished somatic experience. Now is the time to unearth your own material blockages and deepen into physical awareness as we journey into this fresh new territory.

Consolidating the Base: Radical Self-Worth & Material Security

Now our sensitivity stops being about fighting for a seat at the table. It refocuses on the physical floorboards beneath our feet. We are forced to look at where our relationship to money, resources, and self-worth has been dictated by a subconscious scarcity mindset. This transit targets the exact spaces where your nervous system goes into overdrive — making compromises, holding onto stagnant structures, or abandoning your personal value simply to feel financially or physically safe.

True material security under Chiron isn’t about hoarding or locking the doors against the world. It’s an invitation to audit your energetic investments. Where are you leaking your power just to keep the lights on? Where can you build a more honest, grounded relationship with what you own, what you earn, and what you genuinely require to thrive?

This is where you have to look unblinkingly at where you may have discounted our own labor. Have you handed over our physical energy and creative output to external systems, employers, or institutions? Just to chase a phantom sense of safety? True Taurean wealth creation under Chiron demands a radical repatriation of your personal value. You must stop trading your vital life force for under-market validation. Instead you need to catalog your tangible assets. These are your skills, your craft, your time, and your physical endurance. Treating them as non-negotiable capital that belongs entirely to you is the first step.

The Somatic Deepening: Anchoring into Bodywork

With this shift, there is a heightened awareness placed on our physical vessel, sensory experience, and organic density. There is a clear demand to slow down and favor stamina, endurance, and long-term durability. This completely changes the tempo of our lives.

We cannot think our way through a Taurus transit; we have to inhabit it in our skin. Here we can connect deeper with physical space, in our bodies and in nature. We begin resetting our nervous systems by grounding into the earth. This is an invitation to strip away the digital noise and commit to more in-person tactile experiences.

Physical nourishment can come to us through deliberate bodywork, somatic tracking, or simply letting our nervous systems slow down enough to register the earth beneath our feet. It requires patience and a willingness to sit with the physical sensations of comfort and discomfort alike, trusting that true healing happens at the pace of tissue, bone, and breath.

An Equal Energy Exchange: The Language of Reciprocity

Chiron in Taurus breeds a strong desire for permanence, loyalty, and unwavering foundations, nurturing a sense of security. It demands true reciprocity in every single exchange, recognizing a need to anchor into the Ritual of an equal give-and-take.

Beyond our relationship with labor and resources, this transit forces an honest reckoning with how we show up in partnership. Now we can no longer tolerate lopsided connections, emotional deadweight, or relationships built on silent martyrdom and unspoken resentments.

We have to look closely at where we may have over-invested in people or situations that have treated our energy as a bottomless resource. Here we can gather the strength to finally and absolutely require mutual devotion, reliability, and emotional safety. This is a non-negotiable baseline for any relationship that gets to occupy our space.

Commitment to the Earth: Chiron in Taurus and Sustainability

Taurus forces us to examine our direct relationship to the land, our food systems, and the natural terrain that sustains us. We can no longer afford a detached, exploitative relationship with our environment. A serious acknowledgement of the need for increased sustainability will lead us forward. This transit seeks to address the deep social wounds of resource misuse and ecological anxiety.

This is a call to return to local stewardship, regenerative practices, and a sacred responsibility for the soil beneath our feet. We need to recognize that the health of the earth and the security of our own physical vessels are intrinsically tied.

Your Next Steps with Chiron in Taurus: Mastery of The Hierophant

Chiron in Taurus is an invitation to stop surviving at the edge of your own life and start inhabiting the center of it. By auditing your energetic investments, honoring the true value of your labor, requiring genuine reciprocity, and grounding back into the living earth, you can transform your deepest vulnerabilities into unbreakable foundations.

Unmask the hidden energetic debts blocking your material expansion, and let this transit anchor you into a reality where you are safe, sovereign, and entirely at home in your own skin.

To truly anchor the steady, sovereign lessons of this transit into your physical reality, you don’t have to navigate alone. Working with ritual tools like V. The Hierophant Candle series — crafted under an exalted Luna and Domicile Venus in Taurus — provides an unshakeable anchor for reclaiming your personal authority, protecting your energetic heart-space, and deepening into somatic bodywork.

Align with the magick of the Hierophant series to step fully into an era of high self-worth as a heart-centered leader, counselor and spiritual advocate, where you are not only focused on your own healing, but in helping and guiding others on their journey as well.

August 2023 Astrology Forecast

August 2023 Astrology features two Full Moons, the stationing of Mercury Retrograde, and the juicy middle part of Venus’s Retrograde story with Jupiter and Uranus!

Full Moon in Aquarius: August 1st

The first Full Moon of the month is in Saturn-ruled Aquarius on August 1st, which is also the Witch’s holiday of Lughnasadh, the first harvest. This special day signifies a time of thanksgiving and abundance as we mark the height of Summer. It’s a busy day astrologically, as it coincides with two major planetary aspects.

On this day, meticulous Mars in Virgo is in a harmonious, practical Earth trine to Jupiter in Taurus (13° 46′), helping you move forward fearlessly, embrace a competitive spirit, and take bold action to get what you want. This is a lucky transit showing success, growth, and serious conquest.

At the same time, Mercury is opposite dutiful Saturn Retrograde (5° 39′). Mercury has just entered studious, analytical Virgo where he’ll be until October 4. Mentally-focused Mercury loves being in Virgo, the sign of his exaltation, where we have an easier time attending to tedious tasks, staying organized, and improving systems with efficiency and discernment.

But this year Mercury is Retrograde in Earth signs, and he’ll be entering the pre-retrograde shadow phase on August 3 at exactly 8 degrees Virgo. His retrograde stretches from August 23 to September 15, and the shadow continues through September 29.

Mercury opposite Saturn Retrograde can put a slight damper on your enthusiasm, reminding you it’s time to get serious, pulling your thoughts to more somber realities, or confronting you with nibbling self doubt. It can slow you down enough to really think before you take action, which could be to your benefit. Rely on the intelligence of Mercury-Saturn to make smart choices and remember to take your time.

Interestingly, with the Full Moon in Aquarius decan 1 (9° 16′), there’s also a theme of winning but it not really feeling like a win. You could be overcoming something and winning a battle, but that’s not quite the same vibe as, say, winning the lottery. But there’s reason to celebrate all the same. This Full Moon is the culmination of the New Moon in Aquarius that we had on January 21st, also in this first decan of the sign.

Full Moon in Capricorn: The 3 of Pentacles – “Works” (July 2023 Astrology)

3 of Pentacles

How to Use The 3 of Pentacles Series for Full Moon in Capricorn Magick

The 3 of Pentacles is the Lord of Material Works. This is the middle decan of Capricorn, where we have our Full Moon on July 3, 2023.

The Full Moon in Capricorn comes on the heels of an illuminating Mercury Cazimi. This is a lucky time for Mercury when he reaches his Full phase and unites with the Sun.

During the Full phase of the Moon – exact at 4:39am PDT on Monday morning (the 3rd) – Mercury is ahead of the Sun already by 3 degrees. Despite the fact that Mercury Cazimi’s over, the energy of that Cazimi is baked right into the Full Moon. The Full Moon is built on its enlightening and energizing momentum.

The Cazimi energy heightens awareness, leading to insights and revelations about intimacy and our relationships. We’re called to think deeply about what bonds are really the most important to us. To focus our energy on protecting and nurturing those connections. The Full Moon also heightens our awareness of how we can work together to build something of lasting value.

The Energy Leading into the Full Moon

A Blessing from Jupiter and a Motivating Fire Trine

The Mercury Cazimi at 9° 8′ Cancer on June 30th is especially fortunate. It’s in a helpful sextile relationship with good-hearted Jupiter, potentially opening us up to some lucky opportunities. The Sun and Mercury are harmonizing with disciplined Saturn, too. This provides ease with setting boundaries and developing an intuitive container or system that’s going to work for you.

The current communications cycle began on May 1st. At that time, Mercury was retrograde in Taurus, associated with the steady, rhythmic flow of the universe. Our mental focus has been on reciprocity, ensuring that there’s an equal give and take in relationships and at work.

Now at his full phase, Mercury meets with the royal Sun in the first decan of Cancer. This part of the Zodiac’s associated with the Love card in the Tarot. The 2 of Cups represents the deep bond of trust and intimacy. It can be a romance, a mom and her baby, or any two souls meeting each other in divinity.

This is followed by a nice Fire trine with the building Moon in active Sagittarius. She applies to Venus-Mars in heroic Leo, and Chiron in independent Aries. It’s a lot of upward energy with forward momentum. It can feel energizing and motivating as it stirs up all this energy and action.

A Preview of What’s to Come: Venus in Leo Square Uranus

Venus in Leo squares Uranus on July 2nd. This invites Full Moon drama to creep in that may be associated with your Venus Retrograde journey to come. Venus Retrograde is right around the corner. The goddess of love, beauty and pleasure in her pre-retrograde shadow phase from June 19 until she stations on July 22.

This means that this Full Moon drama with Venus and Uranus is part of a 3-act show. Pay special attention to any big revelations, strange occurrences, or surprises now. Look to your relationships, business dealings, or thinking about money, art, and things of value. This rambunctious transit will happen again on August 9, and one final time after the Retrograde on September 29.
